INTRODUCTION
The project is web based. The
functionality of this application majorly comprises of three actors. One is
Supplier who can send the products and assign the products to the repository
when supplier has register to the repository. The second actor will be Admin
who can manage the storage and movement of products and materials within a
company’s repository and related processes. The third actor will be user is
allowed to view and search the product details through product category. This
document will purpose all features and procedures to develop the system. This
document specially containing details about objectives, view product details,
order details, order and space management.
The
Repository Management System can give the fast and accurate checking of the
product details in less time. The primary purpose of Repository Management
System is to control the movement and storage of materials within an operation
and process the associated transactions. Directed picking, add a new product
and directed put away are the key to Repository Management System. The system
tracks the movement of every stock item such item received, picked and shipped.
Information can be generated to show the best location for every item to be put
based on historical data.
Functions of the
Repository:
- Receiving - This includes the physical unloading of incoming products and deciding where the received goods are to be put away in the repository.
- Put away - Storing the bulk of products in their respective locations.
- Sortation – The products are sorted as a block wise and category wise in repository. It can easily find the product location through sortation.
- Shipping – Picked products as per the admin order and packed according to admin order requirement. Supplier can send the products to admin when admin can send the order to supplier. It is shipped according to customer orders and respective locations.
1.1 PROJECT DESCRIPTION
1.1.1 Objective:
The
primary objective of repository is to maximize the effective use of the
repository while satisfying user requirements. We can maintain the products of supplier manufacturing company
products in the repository. The objective of the Repository Management Tool is
to provide better information for the users of this system for better results
for their maintenance in the product details that is sales, purchases and
stock.
1.1.2 Purpose:
The
purpose of Repository Management System is Admin can giving authentication to
supplier manufacturing company to register in the repository. Once supplier
register to the repository. Supplier can easily send the products to repository
to maintain the products in the repository. The Repository Management System is
a software application which avoids more manual hours that need to spend in
record keeping. This application keeps the data in a centralized way which is
available to all the users simultaneously.
The main
objective of Repository Management System Tool is to maintain the blocks in the
repository. Once shipping the products from the supplier we can easily find
location to store the products. Here we are maintaining the blocks for easily
we can store the products in particular blocks. Blocks is nothing but a
category, we can separate the Products into category wise. The automated system
that not only saves lot of time but also search the products very fast.

Scope:
The main
goal of repository is track and control the movement and storage of product
within a repository. The process associated with inventory actions, receiving
products, adding products, picking and shipping. We can maintain the supplier
company products in repository. It is very easy to manage and store the data in
database. No specific training is required for the distributors to use this
application. They can easily use the tool that decreases manual hours to store
the product and hence increases the performance. This can be used for bulk
storage safely in desired location.
1.1.4 Benefits:
This project reduces
the manual work, increasing efficiency and saving time. Also supplier need not
register every time to send a products in repository. Once supplier registered
anytime can send products to repository. Optimization of capacity and materials
flow by proper utilization of storage units in repository.
